Newborn dies and mother damages her uterus after nurses tried '3 Idiots' like delivery

In an unfortunate incident, some nurses tried to recreate the popular delivery scene in Bollywood movie '3 Idiots' because of which a woman lost her new born baby. Nurses at a private hospital named Sai Hospital in Odisha tried to deliver a baby while talking and coordinating with the doctor over phone.

A patient named Aarti Samal was admitted in the hospital in Kendrapada district of Odisha. According to reports by India Today, Dr. Rashmikant Patra, was supposed to take Aarti's case but was not present at the hospital during the time of delivery and that is why the nurses at the hospital tried a caesarean operation on the pregnant woman after talking with the doctor over phone but the result of the process was really tragic. Aarti not only lost her child but her uterus also got damaged.

An FIR has been filed against the doctor and the police have also registered a case against the doctor. Aarti's husband Kalpatru Samal told the daily, "When we contacted Dr Rashmikant Patra, he asked us to get her admitted in the hospital. He informed us that he is not present in the hospital but will coordinate with the nurses for proper care once we get her admitted in the hospital. He did not arrive even when the condition of my wife got critical. I don't know who did it but my wife was operated upon and we lost our first baby. My wife's uterus is also damaged. The nurses said that they had coordinated with the doctor over the phone and had given their 100 per cent. It is only because of their negligence of the hospital authority."
