A horrifying accident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli, where 9 coaches of New Farakka Express train derailed 50 m from Harchandpur railway station on Wednesday morning. Around 7 died and more than 21 injured in the accident. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced Rs 2 Lakh ex-gratia to the next of the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 compensation for those with serious injuries.
Rescue and relief operations are underway at the spot where 9 coaches of New Farakka Express train derailed. Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal has directed to effectively undertake relief & rescue op & provide best possible medical help to the injured. He has ordered an inquiry which will be conducted by Commission of Railway Safety, Northern Circle.

“7 dead and 21 injured after the engine and 9 coaches of New Farakka Express Train derailed. Injured taken to District Hospital in Raebareli. All passengers are evacuated. A special train is being arranged to take them. It may take 24-36 hrs for completion of clearance op,” says DRM Northern Railways.
As per the reports, the train number 14003 was going towards Allahabad got derail 50 metres from the Harchandpur railway station. While Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and medical services personnel to provide all the necessary help during the rescue operation.
