Congress leader and spokesperson Pawan Khera landed in a controversy after he mocked and ‘insulted’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi involving his late father’s name.
While addressing a press conference on Adani row, Khera mocked PM Modi by calling his full name as ‘Narendra Gautam Das Modi’. He was speaking about Opposition’s demand of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe on the Adani Group citing Hindenburg’s report.
“What problem does Narendra Gautam Das Modi has?," he says before asking, "Is it Gautam Das or Damodar Das?" He then says even though the name is Damodar Das, his actions are similar to Gautam Das. The name of PM Modi's father is Damodardas Mulchand Modi. Khera mixed the name with Gautam Adani and come up with ‘Narendra Gautam Das Modi’.

Reacting to Pawan Khera’s remark, BJP’s IT cell incharge Amit Malviya said that the Congress party ‘haven’t even spared his dead father, who had nothing to do with politics’.
The Congress has repeatedly targeted PM Modi for his humble origins and now they haven’t even spared his dead father, who had nothing to do with politics…

Congress’s deep seated sense of entitlement and disdain for a self made man doesn’t sit well with an aspirational India. pic.twitter.com/xILdD0sm8r
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also condemned Khera’s remark.
People embarrassed to use own family’s name eg;‘Rajiv ‘Firoze’ Ghandy, Sonia ‘Stefano’ Ghandy, Priyanka ‘Robert’ Vadra. PIDIS are ridiculing one who uses his legacy with pride.
