Muzaffarpur shelter home case: Accused Brajesh Thakur transferred to Punjab's Patiala jail from Bihar, directs SC

Muzaffarpur shelter home case main accused Brajesh Thakur has been transferred to Punjab's Patiala jail from Bihar, ordered Supreme Court. the top court ordered the transfer of Brijesh Thakur, the main accused in Muzaffarpur shelter home case, to a high-security jail in Punjab's Patiala, reported news agency ANI.

The top court also seeks a list of CBI officers investigating the case from September 20 till now, by October 31.

Slamming Bihar government over not arresting Manju Verma, Supreme Court tells Bihar government that “Just because Manju Verma happens to be cabinet minister of Bihar government, it doesn’t make her above the law. The whole thing is highly suspicious. Why has she not been arrested? It’s too much. Nobody is bothered about the law."

Brajesh Thakur  is the main accused in the Muzaffarpur Shelter home case who and his staff were involved in illegally taking funds from the state government in the name of shelter home.

More than 40 minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted over a period of time in the shelter home which was run by Thakur's state-funded non- governmental organisation (NGO). The NGO was blacklisted and the girls were shifted to shelter homes in Patna and Madhubani.
