26/11 is the black day in the history of India because of the ghastly terror attack in Mumbai. On 26 November 2008, armed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists entered the city of dreams through the Arabian Sea route and carried out a series of a bomb attacks, including shooting in the city.
The terrorists targeted several crowded locations in South Mumbai, including the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Nariman House, Hotel Trident, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Cama Hospital, Leopold Cafe and Wadi Bunder. In the deadly attack, at least 166 people killed and several lefts injured.
Several officials including Sub-inspector Tukaram Omble, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad Chief Hemant Karkare, Inspector Vijay Salaskar and Havaldar Gajendra Singh, were martyred in the Mumbai terror attack.

The terrorists entered the financial capital of India, Mumbai from Karachi, Pakistan, by a fishing trawler. During the course of the attack nine of them were killed. Terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Kasab was arrested and subsequently executed in November 2012.
