Mumbai: Drug worth Rs 20 lakh seized, peddler arrested

The Mumbai Police arrested a drug peddler from Dindoshi and seized packets of MD drugs from his possession. The seized drug is worth Rs 20 lakhs in the international market. The drug peddler has been sent to police custody till December 1.

Here's How Police Arrested The Drug Peddler

Police received a tip-off that the peddler was coming to Santosh Nagar in the Goregaon area to sell drugs. Acting on the secret information, the police laid a trap and arrested the accused.

Probe Underway

MD drugs, commonly known as ecstasy, were recovered from the accused. Further investigation is underway regarding where he brought the drugs and to whom he was going to supply them.

Heroin Seized 

On November 27, a team of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) recovered 8 kg heroin at Mumbai airport and arrested two foreign nationals. The seized heroin is worth 40 crores in the international market.

According to DRI Customs, at Mumbai Airport on Sunday, DRI officials took in custody two foreign nationals with drugs worth Rs 40 crores.
