Much awaited report on the Rafale jet deal by the Comptroller and Auditor General would be tabled in Parliament today and as per sources, pricing issue might not be addressed.

The Comptroller and Auditor General’s report which is called as Capital Acquisition for Air Force will be submitted in Parliament today as it was signed by the President Ram Nath Kovind yesterday.

Sources informed NDTV that the “auditor explicitly told by the Defence Ministry that pricing details can't be shared because of national security". There was a "lot of government pressure.”

It is interesting to note that the current CAG Rajiv Mehrishi was the Finance Secretary when the Rafale deal was signed between Indian and France.

Opposition leader in the Parliament and senior Congress man Mallikarjun Kharge has said over the CAG report, “Let’s see what all they have written in it. In my opinion, they will give the same suggestions here which they gave to Supreme Court in a sealed cover.”

Congress’ Kapil Sibbal, in a press conference earlier had stated, “complicit in the irregularities" in the Rafale deal and alleged that "the bungling was happening at the highest level with his direct or indirect complicity and consent.”

Rahul Gandhi has called PM Modi ‘Chowkidar Chor hai’ as the Congress has alleged that PM Modi deliberately canceled the deal of 126 fighter jets and brought it down to 36 and negotiated in a way which could help Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence and the offset partner HAL is shown the gates.
