In a shocking incident, a three-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her neighbour in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
The police have arrested the accused and registered a case against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The incident occurred when the girl did not return home, and her parents began searching for her. The girl was found unconscious.
Upon inquiring with the neighbours, the parents were informed that the child had been seen with the accused.
The parents lodged a complaint at the Rajnagar police station, and the girl was admitted to a district hospital. Given the seriousness of the crime, Chhatarpur SP Amit Sanghi visited the hospital and met with the victim's parents.
Due to the critical condition of the child, she was later referred to a hospital in Gwalior The girl's parents are daily wage laborers who work hard to make a living.
Shockingly, the accused, who is a laborer in Delhi, had returned to his village for his wife's delivery.
Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
