MP policeman thrashes mentally challenged man on busy street; video goes viral

A heartwrenching video has come to light from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind where a policeman has brutally thrashed a mentally challenged man on the busy street on Wednesday.

In the viral video, a policeman can be seen kicking a man and also beating him from a lathi. Later, the cop took the man in the police van to the station.

On the other hand, the passerby and motorist were watching the assault silently and recorded the incident.

The senior police department took the cognizance of the viral video and suspended the cop named Jitu Tomar.

Rudolf Alvares, Superintendent of Police (SP) told media that they have taken serious action against the constable Tomar, who was seen thrashing the mentally challenged man. He condemned the issue and the behavior of Jitu Tomar who has given a wrong example to the society and also harmed the image of the Police department. Meanwhile, the authorities have suspended Tomar with immediate effect.
