Refusing to comment on the arrest of Moin Qureshi, Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the concerned investigating agency should be asked for the reason of delay in taking action.

"I don't think it's right or fair for a political party to comment on an ongoing investigation, which is something that agencies are doing. I think you should ask the official spokespersons from these agencies why there was a delay in taking action, as from what we hear from newspapers, it is an old case," he told media here.

Millionare meat exporter Moin Qureshi was arrested in connection to a Rs 200 Crore money laundering case , by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday and is being produced before Patiala House Court.

"Some action has been taken now so I don't see any reason why the Congress party should be commenting this way or that way on this," Singhvi added before signing off.

Qureshi has also been registered under Foreign Exchange Management Act ( FEMA) case and is facing IT charges of black money for not disclosing income of Rs. 20 crore.

The Income Tax department, during its probe, found that Qureshi had 11 bank lockers which were in the names of his employees and associates.

The lockers were operated by the employees of Qureshi's AMQ Group. Over Rs. 11.26 crore in cash and jewellery worth over Rs. 8.35 crore were found in these lockers.

According to sources, it has been alleged that Qureshi was taking favour from public servants and money from various unknown sources.
