Patiala House Court in Delhi granted bail to senior journalist Priya Ramani on a personal bail bond of Rs 10,000 in the criminal defamation case filed by former Union minister and former editor MJ Akbar against her.
"The next date when they will frame the charges against me is April 10. After that, it will be my turn to tell my story. The truth is my defence," Priya Ramani said after being granted bail by the court.

Journalist Priya Ramani was sued by MJ Akbar over her allegations of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement. Ramani was among women who accused MJ Akbar of sexual harassment when he was a media personality. After which he was forced to resign from the Union cabinet on October 17, 2018.
Following the allegation of sexual misconduct, editor-turned politician filed a criminal defamation case against Priya Ramani, following which Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal summoned her.
The case has been adjourned for the day and the matter will be next heard on 8 April.
