In a major mishap at Pune's Navale bridge, several people were injured after a truck lost control and crashed into several vehicles on November 20. The accident on the bridge resulted in a 48-vehicle pileup.
The mishap took place when the truck that was heading to Pune, suddenly lost control and crashed into several vehicles. It is suspected that the brakes of the vehicle failed, due to which it lost control and collided with several vehicles on the bridge. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, however, several people sustained injuries.
The accident resulted in a major traffic jam on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway. The damaged vehicles are being removed from the road.
According to the Pune Metropolitical Region Development Authority (PMRDA), at least 48 vehicles were damaged in the mishap, including those that suffered minor damage.

“A major road accident occurred at Navale bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune, in which about 48 vehicles got damaged. "Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have reached the spot,” said an official, as quoted by ANI.
Notably, the Navale bridge area is prone to accidents due to the high speed vehicles and steep slope.
