A 22-year-old man, who was preparing for the Army, allegedly died by suicide in Noida, police said on February 15. The deceased identified as Deepu Kumar allegedly committed suicide after failing an army recruitment examination. He hailed from Aligarh and lived in a rented flat in Noida’s sector 46.
Police got the information about the alleged suicide on February 13 after which it reached the spot and took the body into custody. Cops also recovered a purported suicide note from the Deepu’s flat in which he wrote, ‘I would prove myself as a soldier in the next life’.
Police said that the deceased was living with his brother and two cousins. They added that he was depressed because he didn't do well in the recent army recruitment exam.
“Deepu was living with his brother and two cousins in the room. He wrote about many things in the suicide note, including his preparation for army recruitment. Deepu could not do well in the recent army recruitment exam. He seemed to have troubles with various things and was depressed,” said Sandeep Chaudhary of Sector 49 police station.

Police handed over Deepu Kumar’s body to his relatives after the post-mortem.
Further probe is underway.
