Man molests son of COVID-19 patient; asks 14-year-old boy to remove clothes

In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old son of COVID-19 patient has been molested by a man who claimed to be a doctor. The incident took place in the coronavirus centre in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, media reported.

The boy used to visit his mother, who has been tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to the centre.


The 14-year-old boy was also staying in one of the isolation rooms along with his mother.

According to the reports in Times Now, the boy and his mother went to their grandfather’s home in Bhavnagar on July 1. The woman got a temperature while they were on their way and was taken to a hospital.

The next day, she was tested positive for COVID-19 and was put in an isolation ward. Her condition deteriorated and then she was referred to a hospital, The Indian Express reported.

Deets about the incident:

As per the complaint filed by the family, on July 4, the teenager was alone in one of the hospital rooms when an anonymous person approached him. He was wearing a white shirt and a mask and introduced himself as a doctor to the child.

The man said that he needed to check the pulse of the boy and also touched him inappropriately on the pretext of check-up.

The unidentified man also asked the boy to take off his clothes and told him to sleep on the floor.

He told the boy that he needed to sleep on the floor to facilitate a medical process. The man forcibly lay on the teenager while he was on the ground.

However, an FIR was registered at the Nilam Baug police station under section 12 of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
