Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the watchdogs of the Central government have become active and Robert Vadra was grilled for 5 hours by ED and now, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has said that ‘it’s political vendetta.’
In an unprecedented stand-off between Centre and West Bengal government over Saradha chit fund scam, Mamata Banerjee was sitting on dharna since last 3-4 days as the Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar was tagged as ‘absconding’ by the CBI and officials of the agency barged into his house to question and interrogate the top cop of West Bengal.
Now, after the drama was resolved by the Supreme Court, Mamata Banerjee has gone all out against the Modi government and said that the interrogation being conducted on Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra is vendetta and that ‘Opposition stands together in such tough times.’
“There is no serious case, nothing, just sending the notice casually to everybody. So, we stand together, we are united,” said Bengal Chief Minister, adding that “They (centre) are doing it deliberately ahead of the polls.”
While Mamata Banerjee alleged that BJP government is ‘misusing the CBI’ and sat on ‘Satyagraha,’ she garnered support from many Opposition leaders like Aam Aadmi Party's Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, BSP leader Mayawati, RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, DMK’s Kanimozhi and TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu.
It was a clear message for the electorates that the elections are approaching and the political roadmap is set, the agencies would be used to silence the Opposition and political vendetta will be in the air.
