In a shocking incident, a body of a 32-year-old man was found at the foot of a hill on Lohegaon Bhavdi road near Wagholi on May 14.
The body was discovered early in the morning by a local resident who immediately informed the police control room. A team from Lonikand Police Station promptly arrived at the crime scene and took custody of the body.
The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Suresh Uravi, an employee of an IT company in Pune. He hailed from Amravati and was residing in Kharadi.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Gaurav was attacked with a sharp object, resulting in his death.
According to Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar, "The deceased, who was unmarried, lived in Kharadi with his roommates. We learned from his roommates that he worked in an IT company in the Kharadi area, although he was not a software engineer." Gaurav's roommates informed the police that he left home around 10 pm on Friday and did not return.
The body has been sent for autopsy, and the police are awaiting the report.
A murder case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and an investigation has been initiated to apprehend the suspect(s).
