In the run up to the Lok Sabha poll, the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ in Bihar has announced the seat-sharing and the candidates with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav saying that the pact is ‘unbreakable.’
In the announcement, Tejashwi Yadav said that Congress will be contesting from the Patna Saheb and RJD from Begusarai. RJD will be contesting upon 19 seats, which includes Gopalganj, Siwan among others. Senior leader Sharad Yadav would be contesting the polls from Madhepura and Tanvir Hassan will be contesting from Begusarai.
Newsagency ANI tweeted, “RJD to contest on 19 seats including Bhagalpur, Banka, Madhyapura, and Darbhanga. RLSP to contest on 5 seats, Congress to contest on 9 seats including Patna Saheb.”
Tejashwi Yadav further said, "Sharad Yadav to contest from Madhepura, Sarfraz Alam from Araria and Misa Bharti from Pataliputra."
RJD leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav's son added that their are no ups and downs in teh Grand Alliance and all is well within. 'It's an election to save democracy.' he said.
Congress is all set to welcome the sidelined BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, who met Rahul Gandhi at his residence on Thursday. And in the seat-sharing deal, the Congress has been allotted the Patna Sahib constituency, paving way for Sinha.
