In a tragic incident, at least nine people have died and 11 have been hospitalised due to a gas leak at a factory in Ludhiana’s Giaspura area on April 30.
The police, local administration, and medical teams reached the spot immediately after receiving the information and cordoned off the area.
As per reports, the gas leak was noticed around 7:00 am.

“A rescue team has been called to the spot. A team of doctors and ambulances have also been called,” news agency ANI quoted a superintendent of police as saying.
Initial reports suggest that the gas leak was from the cooling system of the Goyal Milk Plant, a factory that produces dairy products, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Bathinda have been dispatched for rescue operations. Further details are awaited.
