As the countdown for 2019 election begins, BJP president Amit Shah has today filed his nomination from the Gandhinagar constituency after a mega roadshow and NDA’s show of strength, wherein Shah stated that he would take forward the legacy of veteran leader Lalkrishna Advani.
The Gandhinagar seat,which has been traditionally with the BJP’s patriarch Lalkrishna Advani, has now been handed over to the party president, who is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat.
Amit Shah, ahead of the filing his nomination, rallied in Gandhinagar and the NDA was part of the campaign trail which has kicked off for the BJP in Gujarat today. In the ‘Vijay Sankalp Sabha,’ Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Ram Vilas Pasawn, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal were present to showcase the strength of the NDA.

While adding to his statement, BJP supremo said that “I will make every effort to take Advani ji's legacy (at Gandhinagar) forward.”
In support of the campaign, Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray said that they have sorted out all the issues between the BJP-Sena and both will work together to make Narendra Modi PM again.
Thackeray said, “My father taught me to do everything from heart, issues that we raised were of the people, we (BJP-Shiv Sena) had differences but we settled them.We never stabbed the from back & never will.”
