Three times chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, is likely to be appointed as the new president of Delhi Pradesh Congress and will succeed Ajay Maken.
Maken, who had resigned last week, earlier had taken the responsibility of the loss of Congress party in the assembly election of 2015 where the Congress was brought down to 0 by the enormous victory of Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP got a mere 3 seats.
The 80 year old leader, who has been a face of Delhi’s development will be assisted by two working presidents while being in the office.
Sheila served as the CM for 3 consecutive terms until 2013 when the Congress lost the power, although it was an alliance partner of the AAP which formed the government in Delhi.
