As the 2019 Lok Sabha election is around the corner, the Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati’s alliance have announced their seat sharing deal and the Samajwadi Party is all set to contest from BJP’s bastion Varanasi and Gorakhpur.
News agency ANI tweeted while informing that “Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati & Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav have decided that SP will contest on 37 seats while BSP will fight on 38 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.”
Uttar Pradeh would be detrimental in deciding the next government at the centre and caste politics would again be a deciding factor amongst the triangular contest between SP-BSP, BJP and the Congress.
Both the parties will not be contesting from Amethi and Raebareli, the home turf of the Congress and the Bua-Babua have not included the grand old party in their strategic alliance, after which the Congress announced to contest on all 80 seats, bringing in Priyanka Gandhi as the General Secretary of the UP (East).
