The Mumbaikars travelling on the Central Railway line had to suffer on Tuesday after thousands of students blocked the Mumbai local railway's central line. The students started 'rail-roko' protest against the Railway recruitment system and block the railway line between Matunga and Dadar railway stations. The student's protest was started during the morning peak hours at the 7 am in the morning.

The protest has disrupted the suburban as well as express trains in the Central Railway. Even entire railway route (4) has been affected between CST and Matunga. "There has been no recruitment since last four years. We are struggling from pillars to post. Over 10 students have committed suicide. We cannot let such things happen," a student, who was part of the protest, said.

“Due to some agitation between Matunga and Dadar, rail traffic has been affected between Matunga and CSMT,” said Sunil Udasi, chief public relations officer, Central Railway.
