Bars and clubs cannot operate beyond midnight in Rajasthan and have to close their business by 12:00 am.
State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on January 17 said that his government is trying to regulate the bars and clubs that are operating in small lanes and corners until 3 am.
“Bars and clubs run till late up to 3am. They are opening in small lanes and corners. We will see how to regulate them later but for now have decided that by 11.30pm-12am, they should be closed,” Gehlot said.
CM Gehlot further stated that he has given instructions to officials that the liquor shops across the state should be closed by 8 pm, and if the norms be violated, the police station in charge will be held responsible for it.
The decision is taken by the Rajasthan Government to curtail the crime and road accidents in the state. “We want everyone to sleep peacefully,” the CM said.
Addressing the media persons on the second day of the two-day 'Chintan Shivir' yesterday, the state Chief Minister stated that the issue of social security should be discussed at the national level
He further informed that the Rajasthan Cabinet has passed a resolution urging the Centre to make a law in parliament to give social security to the people of the country. The resolution will soon be sent to the Centre for reviewing.
"The time has come when the right to social security act should be made in parliament. One crore people are getting social security in Rajasthan while this number in Uttar Pradesh, which is more populous than Rajasthan, is only 40-50 lakh," he said.
The state cabinet meeting was held on January 17, before the Chintan Shivir. In the Shivir, CM Gehlot also reviewed the performance of all the government departments and ensure that they are running smoothly.
During the review, the Chief Minister also expressed displeasure with some officials who are not cooperating in executing government schemes and programs at the ground level. He has also hinted that those officials will be terminated from their services.
Talking about the crime rate in the desert state, CM Gehlot, citing National Crime Records Bureau data, stated that it has decreased by five percent in 2021 compared to 2019.
