Kerala's Poonjar MLA PC George on Sunday triggered a huge controversy after he made a shameful remark on the Kerala Nun sexual assault case by calling the victim 'prostitute and questioning on her character. The nun has reportedly accused a bishop of the Roman Catholic Church of allegedly raping her.

PC George, an Independent MLA, said, "No one has doubt that the nun is a prostitute. Twelve times she enjoyed it and the 13th time it is rape? Why didn't she complain the first time? (sic).

He also said that a nun is supposed to be a virgin like the mother of Jesus and once she loses her virginity, there is no reason to call her nun.

The nun, the victim had registered case of a rape and sexual assault against a bishop based in Jalandhar, Punjab. As per reports, the bishop reportedly used to often visit Kerala for official work, during which he allegedly raped her on several occasions.

Speaking on Kerala Independent MLA PC George calling victim nun a prostitute, Subhashini Ali, CPM said 'Nuns showed courage in making such allegations against someone who is head of the organisation(Bishop). In such a situation for somebody who is a public figure to make this comment is horrible.'
