Two men were caught yesterday with Rs 1 crore of unaccounted cash in an autorickshaw near Bengaluru city, the police said on April 14. The accused, identified as Suresh and Praveen, were arrested near the city market and were carrying the money in two large-sized bags.
This comes ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections scheduled to be held on May 10 and the counting will take place on May 13.

When the cops asked the accused persons to produce documents related to the case they failed to do so.
“They did not have any documents related to money,” said Bengaluru Central DCP, R Srinivas Gowdaa.
Suresh and Praveen have been taken into custody and police have informed the Income Tax Department regarding the seizure, and the money will be handed over to the agency.
Earlier on April 6, a total of Rs 50 lakhs unaccounted money was seized from a car at Dundur check post in Gadag district.
Further investigation is underway.
