Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday, accused BJP of placing several 'hurdles' before the floor test in the Karnataka Assembly scheduled for 4 pm today. The former Finance Minister took Twitter and asked BJP about their next tricks to place hurdles before the assembly votes. P Chidambaram asked, “How many tricks will the BJP invent before the Karnataka Assembly votes on the motion of confidence? How many hurdles will they place?”
P Chidambaram also took a dig at the party over the latter's list of demands. He said, “First, give us 15 days. Second, Anglo-Indian member. Third, secret ballot. Fourth, colluding pro-tem Speaker. Fifth, under invention!”
221 elected men and women cannot decide who among them enjoys the confidence of the majority! Why call ourselves a democracy?

Talking about the Supreme Court's judgement to conduct the floor test on Saturday, Chidambaram said, “Thank god there is a Supreme Court! It is also a commentary that on a purely State matter, the parties do not repose confidence in the State High Court.”
He added, “221 elected men and women cannot decide who among them enjoys the confidence of the majority! Why call ourselves a democracy?”
Well, it is a fate day for the BJP and Congress-JDS alliance after Governor Vajubhai Vala invited BJP to form its government and was yesterday asked for floor test in the assembly today by Supreme Court. The floor test will take place at 4 pm in the evening on Saturday. Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala appointed Bopaiah as the pro-tem speaker ahead of the floor test in the Karnataka assembly. The Floor Test will be telecasted live.
