Aiming at General Election 2019 to have a massive win and emerge as largest party, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he will become the Prime Minister of India if the party emerges as largest in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election 2019.

Speaking at a gathering of prominent personalities in Bengaluru, when Rahul Gandhi was asked if he will become the Prime Minister, the Congress chief said that it depends on how well the Congress party does in the general election.

"If the Congress party is the biggest party, yes," said Rahul Gandhi, aiming to become PM.

Earlier last month, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi had claimed that BJP would not win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi might lose from Varanasi under a 'united' Opposition.

If the Congress emerges as the single largest party, "then why not?" he asked in Bengaluru this morning. And as for the current prime minister, Gandhi's political forecast was grim.

"I'm convinced that PM Modi won't be PM come 2019," he said. "You may laugh at me," he explained. "But post-2019, I would say that it is highly unlikely that BJP will form a government in 2019, and that Modi will come to power."

Why? "That's because of the opposition unity today," he said. "Everyone in politics is working to overthrow the BJP."

"This is no longer a tactical political fight but a fight against an ideology that everyone will come together against."

"Rahul Gandhi is dreaming of 2019," Amit Malviya, the BJP's IT cell head, wrote in a tweet. "Has Congress given up on Karnataka?"

"Is he anticipating that knives would be out for him on 15th as under his leadership the Congress would have lost yet another state (I seem to have lost the count)..."

Earlier, during Karnataka election campaign. Rahul Gandhi accused Modi of making personal attacks against him "There are three modes in a cell phone....the first is the work mode....the other two are speaker mode and aeroplane mode. Modi only uses speaker and aeroplane mode and not the work mode," he told reporters in an impromptu interaction.
