Dengue cases on the rise in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Despite the increasing number of dengue cases, the state government has not declared a medical emergency. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao stated that the health department is keeping a close eye on the situation and providing necessary treatment to patients.

Rao said that the health department is monitoring the situation on a daily basis and taking necessary steps to control the spread of dengue. He added that the department is providing necessary treatment to patients in government hospitals and is also creating awareness among people about the disease.

The minister said that the next two months are crucial in controlling the spread of dengue and urged people to take necessary precautions to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. He also instructed district collectors and panchayat CEOs to open fever clinics and increase testing in areas where dengue cases are high.

Rao criticized the opposition leaders for making irresponsible statements about the government's handling of the dengue situation. He said that the opposition should work responsibly and cooperate with the government in controlling the spread of the disease.

In a separate incident, Rao clarified that he had visited an international swimming pool in Mangaluru as part of his official tour and not a resort. He had also launched a campaign to destroy larvae of mosquitoes and create awareness among people about the disease.

The health minister's statement comes at a time when the state is grappling with a rising number of dengue cases. The government has been taking various measures to control the spread of the disease, including launching awareness campaigns and increasing testing facilities.
