With the JDS and Congress in a tussle over the issue of allocation of portfolios in their ruling coalition in Karnataka, the BJP today alleged "paralysis" in Government functioning in the southern State.
"It's a paralysed situation. It's a paralysed government in the functioning", BJP General Secretary in charge of Karnataka, P Muralidhar Rao, told PTI here.
The Congress had declared unconditional support to the JD(S), but "now everybody has come to know that there are lot of conditions, he said.
"Ultimately, there will be a dysfunctional government. What we will have in Karnataka for a few days will be a dysfunctional government. Sooner the people realise it, the better", Rao said.
Hectic parleys have been on between both Congress and JD(S) on cabinet expansion and portfolio allocation since Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy proved majority on the floor of the assembly on May 25, two days after his swearing-in on May 23.
Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, also state Congress chief, said in Bengaluru yesterday that a final decision regarding allocation of portfolios would be arrived at soon.
Sources say that the two parties have not been able to arrive at a consensus on allocation of key portfolios, most importantly Finance, which both Congress and JD(S) want in their kitty.
