A full-grown leopard was found in an injured condition near Panchayat Ghar in the Malwa area near Doda town, Jammu on January 1.
The residents spotted the big cat struggling to get up from its place and reported it to their Sarpanch, who notified the wildlife department.
The wildlife officials reached the spot and rescued the injured wild animal.
“We received information about it from the Sarpanch of Malwas village in Doda. Treatment will be provided to the leopard,” said Doda Forest official Ramesh Kumar.

The forest officials most likely released the leopard into the wild once the big cat recovered from its wounds.
