In a raging controversy over UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s remark, where he called ‘Indian Army as PM Modi’s Army,’ Union Minister VK Singh has rebuked over the comment and said that it’s a grave wrong by connecting Indian Army with PM Modi’s Army.

In an interview given to BBC Hindi, BJP’s Ghaziabad candidate General (retd.) VK Singh called out those who have directly or indirectly tried to politicise the Indian Army and said, “If someone says that the Indian Army is Modi ji’s Army, then he is not only wrong but also a traitor to the country.”

Earlier, UP CM Yogi Adityanath while addressing a rally in Ghaziabad had said, “Congress people used to serve terrorists biryani, but "Modiji ki sena" (Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Army) gives them only bullets and bombs. That's the difference. Congress people use "ji" for terrorists like Masood Azhar, but under the leadership of PM Modi, the BJP government is breaking the backs of terrorists by striking their camps.”

As the Lok Sabha election is scheduled to begin next week, the political rhetoric is touching its height; even former Navy chief Admiral L Ramdas (retired) had shown objection over the remarks of Yogi Adityanath. Indian Army must be clinked in the political tug of war.

BJP’s VK Singh further said to news agency ANI that, “Army does not belong to an individual. Army only belongs to the nation. Where did Modi army come from?”

The Election Commission has sent a notice to CM Yogi asking for an explanation over his remark and has set April 5 as the deadline.
