The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel arrested a man near the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal’s Murshidabad on March 16 and recovered five gold biscuits worth approximately Rs 33.50 lakhs from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Alam Gir Sheikh.

According to the BSF, Sheikh was trying to smuggle gold biscuits from Bangladesh to India. During interrogation the accused revealed that he received the gold biscuits from a Bangladeshi smuggler.
The accused was handed over to the local police and further investigation is underway.
