A quarrel involving a girl led to the death of a man in the national capital, for which the Delhi Police have arrested a 22-year-old man and apprehended two juveniles in connection with the case.
The 22-year-old accused has been identified as Tabish alias Danish, a resident of Jamia Nagar.
According to the police, Adeeb had a girlfriend who was previously in a relationship with a 16-year-old boy. The juvenile had threatened Adeeb to end the relationship with her or face dire consequences.
To settle the matter, Adeeb, along with his friends Mohammad Shyan, Mohammad Sheikh Zafar, Shyam, and Afzal, met the juvenile at Zakir Nagar’s street number-6, who came with his friends named Sabir, Tabish, and another minor.
The talks escalated into a scuffle between the two groups, during which Tabish allegedly stabbed Adeeb and his friends, and they fled the scene. The injured were rushed to Holy Family hospital where doctors declared Shyam brought dead.
A case was registered on Saturday based on the statement of Mohammad Afzal, following which the police initiated an investigation. After getting a tip-off, cops conducted raids at Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur and Siyana and arrested both the juveniles (16) and Tabish.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Rajesh Deo, police also succeeded in seizing the murder weapon (knife) from Tabish’s possession. Further investigation into the case is underway.
