Four cops injured in stone-pelting in Muzaffarnagar

Four policemen were injured in stone-pelting when they had gone to arrest some persons accused in a loot case at Bahavari village in Shamli district.

A police team had gone to the village yesterday and some people allegedly pelted stones at the cops.

According to Circle Officer Sunil Tyagi, the police has registered a case against 37 people of whom 17 have been arrested in this connection.

Those who have been arrested include Ritesh, Kishan Pal, Sarvan, Ravi, Subhash, Sukhne, Rohit, Vishu, Kuldeep, Vinod, Shivkumar, Mahender, Kallu, Ashok, Munish, Brahampal and Ram Singh.

The police team had gone to arrest some persons who had allegedly looted Rs 35,000 cash and a bike from a trader in the village on Sunday.
