Rajasthan: FIR against Baba Ramdev for making remarks against Muslims, Christians

An FIR has been registered against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in Rajasthan’s Barmer under charges of promoting enmity and outraging religious feelings. The FIR was filed in response to his controversial remarks aimed at the Muslim and Christian communities during a speech in Barmer.

The Chohtan police station in Barmer registered the FIR on January 5, after a local resident named Pathai Khan filed a complaint about Baba Ramdev's remarks made during a religious gathering on February 2.

During his speech, Baba Ramdev made comparisons between Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity.

In his complaint, Khan stated that Baba Ramdev's remarks had deeply hurt the sentiments of Muslims and that they were made with the intention of inciting enmity against the religions.

The case has been registered under Sections 153 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 298 (uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person).
