After an intense election battle fought over 38 days, polling for 542 Lok Sabha constituency seats concluded today on May 19. The Polling for the national election was scheduled in seven phases, with the end of the seventh phase of polling.

According to the exit poll survey, BJP is expected to bag seats between 242 and 252, while the allies may secure 50 to 60 seats. The survey predicts NDA might repeat 2014 poll numbers. While UPA allies are predicted to get another 30-35 seats, for the total UPA tally to be around 62-72 seats, based on the surveys. SP-BSP gathbandhan will fail to make a mark in Uttar Pradesh.
