On 8 November 2016, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took one of the boldest steps by banning the currency note of Rs 1000 and Rs 500. Today India has completed one year of demonetisation.

Today, people are celebrating the first anniversary of demonetisation. Though the talk about whether demonetisation was right or wrong for the Indian economy is still going on. On one hand, Narendra Modi led NDA government is supporting their bold step, on the other it is being highly criticized by Opposition as they are observing the black day. The Opposition has claimed that the demonetisation destroyed Indian economy.

There are many who are opposing Narendra Modi's step and there are many who are supporting it. On one side Indian Prime Minister is calling demonetisation a brave step by telling the benefit of it, on the other hand, the opposition is calling it a thoughtless step. Apart from the politicians, even social networking site Twitter is divided on the matter.
