Delhi Weather Alert: National capital wakes up to chilly morning; shallow fog in some parts
Delhiites wakes upto chilly morning with minimum temperature settling at 6 degree Celsius and maximum temperature recorded at 21 degree Celsius. Shallow fog engulfed some parts of the national capital, leading to 'very poor' air quality.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor" and 401-500 "severe". Relative humidity at 8.30 am was 97 per cent, a Met official said.
At 0530 hrs IST of today, no major fog is reported and visibility is more than 1000 meters at most of the stations. However, at 0700 hrs IST of today, Amritsar Airport reported fog with 200 meter visibility. Visibility(in meters) reported at Delhi Safdarjung 0800, DelhiPalam-1200

The air quality index (AQI) at 9.37 am in Delhi was recorded at 290, Faridabad 285, Ghaziabad 313, Greater Noida 304, Gurgaon 250 and Noida was 267. Due to likely dry cold northweaterly winds over northwest India, cold wave conditions are likely in isolated parts over Punjab, Harayan, Chandigarh and Delhi during 2-3 days.

Due to confluence between easterlies and westerlies at lower tropospheric levels, scatterd to fairly widespread rainfall/thundershowers over Vidarbha, Chhtisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha during next 24 hours.
