On 7th August a video went viral of Kanwariyas smashing a grey i10 car, Delhi police on Thursday arrested one Kanwariya among them identified as Rahul alias Billa from West Delhi's Uttam Nagar. The another Karwariyas group also attacked police van in Delhi's Bulandshahr of which a video went viral on Social media. The Delhi police have held six Kanwariyas in the connection with the same including main accused Pappu.

According to ANI, Pappu, a Kanwar, was accused of eve-teasing by the victim Deepu, who had filed a complaint against him in Narsena Police Station. Pappu reportedly went to confront Deepu with his fellow Kanwar friends and roughed him up. When police tried to nab them, they vandalised the cop car.
After videos showcasing vehicles being vandalised by Kanwariyas across Northern states went viral on social media, the Supreme Court directed the police to take strict action against those responsible for erupting violence.
Kanwariya, Rahul who was arrested on Thursday is said to be a drug addict and was involved in a theft case in 2014. As per reports, he had allegedly stolen gold and silver jewellery worth over Rs 40,000 and Rs 2,500 in cash from a house. He was then arrested and put behind the bars for around 6-7 months, and was later released on bail, said reports.
Delhi Police's DCP (West) Vijay Kumar said that during the enquiry to identify people involved in the incident, they scanned CCTV in the area and mobile footage that were doing the rounds on social media. Rahul was the main culprit and the manhunt for other co-accused in on.
