A day after a 20-year-old woman was killed in the national capital after being dragged for several kilometres by a car, a huge crowd on January 2 gathered outside Sultanpuri Police station and staged a protest to showcase their anguish over the heinous incident. The protestors demanded justice for the woman.

The Delhi Police traced the car and arrested the five men in connection with the case. Cops have also taken samples from the men to check if they were in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident.

In a video, tweeted by news agency ANI, huge crowd can be seen protesting in the Sultanpuri area. Women can be seen banging a white car during the protest.

The woman, who worked for an event management company, died in agony after her scooter collided with a car, her clothes entangled in the wheels, due to which she was dragged for several kilometers in the Khanjawala area.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the incident ‘rarest of the rare crimes’ and demanded capital punishment for the accused.

“It's an unfortunate incident that a group of men dragged a woman under their car and she died. I appeal that all the accused should be given stringent punishment & be hanged. It's rarest of rare crimes,” said Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, the AAP workers protested outside the residence of Delhi LG Vinai Saxena and demanded justice for the victim.

The victim’s mother expressed a possibility of molestation with her saying, “.She was wearing so many clothes but not single piece of cloth was there on her body, what kind of accident was it.”

Police are investigating the case from all angles.
