Delhi: MJ Akbar sues this woman journalist with defamation case in Patiala House Court over #MeToo row

Union Minister MJ Akbar filed a criminal defamation case against journalist Priya Ramani in Patiala House Court over #MeToo allegations of sexual harassment. MJ Akbar was accused of sexual harassment by a dozen women in India's #MeToo movement.

MJ Akbar yesterday had said that his lawyers were exploring legal action on the allegations, which prompted calls for his resignation from the government. He has filed the case against Priya Ramani through his advocates Karanjawala & Co.


The former senior editor was named by journalist Priya Ramani under #MeToo movement of sexual harassment in a tweet on October 8.
