Delhi: In a harrowing incident in Burari area, a 40-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband on suspicion of extramarital relations. The police received a PCR call at about 04:43 AM on Friday, reporting a lady found lying in a pool of blood at Satya Vihar.

Multiple Injuries

Upon reaching the scene, officials discovered the deceased with multiple injuries on her face. The injured woman was promptly shifted to Burari Govt. Hospital, where she was later declared dead. Subsequently, the Burari Police station registered a case under Section 302 IPC.

Revelation of the Culprit

After a thorough investigation, it was revealed that the victim's spouse, identified as Kundan Shah (46), confessed to his involvement in the murder. The accused alleged that his wife was engaged in extramarital affairs, leading to this tragic incident.

Details of the Crime

During questioning, Kundan Shah admitted to using a chisel to commit the murder on a Friday afternoon while the couple was alone at home. Their children were either at school or their workplaces during the incident.

Motive Behind the Crime

Further interrogation exposed the accused's belief that his wife had consistently neglected him, pushing him to conclude she was involved with others. Frustration over the perceived illicit relationships prompted him to commit the heinous act.

Criminal History Unveiled

In a startling revelation, it came to light that the accused had a prior case of assault registered against him at Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar Police station.

Evidence and Recovery

The police successfully retrieved the chisel used in the crime and the deceased's mobile phone, which the accused had destroyed post the murder.
