Delhi High Court asked Kejriwal's government that ‘what was being constructed behind big walls at India Gate?’

A shocking news comes to light when Delhi High Court has asked Delhi government about the construction at India Gate Circle.

Earlier on Wednesday, a bench of acting chief justice Gita Mittal and justice C Hari Shankar said that every construction site shows about what is being constructed at the site then why at India Gate no such board has been used during the construction. Justice asked what is a secret behind the big walls that is hiding by the government.

The bench also asked the lawyer appearing for the Delhi government about the construction that ‘ what are you hiding behind those big walls. Why so secrecy is being maintained? Justice also asked that ‘do the people of Delhi don’t have the right to know about it? The bench said that ‘we also want to rejoice in it. Are we not entitled to know?

In a reply, the standing said from the side of Kejriwal's government that the Ministry of Defence was building a National War Memorial at the India Gate to honour those who have given their lives for the country since Independence.

Then, the bench further asked that what is a point of being so secretive was when cameras at Indian Gate were also not functional.

This hidden construction information came to light when a court had initiated on its own after receiving a letter from an AIIMS physiotherapist who claimed that the cameras around India Gate Circle area were not working on 28th June night.

In the letter, the physiotherapist also claimed that on 28th June a speeding vehicle came towards his car and made him stop forcefully.

Later, the driver of the vehicle has assaulted him and sped away from the site. In the letter, he also mentioned that when he went for complaint at Police station, he was told that the other vehicle couldn’t be traced as CCTV cameras at the area was not functional.

The court fixed the matter for October 20, asking the authorities concerned to file details of functional CCTVs.
