Delhi Fire: This was bound to happen, says Bihar Minister Sanjay Jha

Hours after the fire mishap that took place in Delhi's Anaj Mandi and claimed as many as 43 lives, Bihar Minister Sanjay Jha said, this was bound to happen, you go and see the situation inside, there are live wires.

Blaming the power department, the Bihar Minister said, " Maximum people were from Purvanchal and Bihar, there were people from Madhubani and Darbhanga. It is a complete failure of the power department."

meanwhile, a case has been registered under section 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code against the owner of the building.


"Rehan, the owner of the building against whom a case has been registered under section 304 IPC, is currently absconding," informed Delhi (North) Police DCP Monika Bhardwaj.


Forty-three people were killed in a massive fire that swept through a factory operating from a residential area in Delhi's Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi road early on Sunday. Over 50 people have been rescued so far.

The fire, which erupted due to a short-circuit, has been doused and rescue efforts are underway. Many people trapped inside were rescued and rushed to RML Hospital, LNJP, and Hindu Rao Hospital, fire officials said.

As per reports, the fire was reported at around 5:22 AM following which 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Chaotic scenes were witnessed at the site of the fire incident with relatives and locals rushing to the area.
