The wanted 62-year-old lady don, Basiran alias mummy wanted in 113 criminal cases including murder, arrested from Delhi's Sangam Vihar on August 17. Back in the 1980s, the Agra resident Basiran moved to Delhi with her husband. The couple started selling illicit liquor for survival and the make an entry into the world of crime. They got shelter at Navjeevan Camp in South Delhi's Govindpuri area.
The lady don, over the years, became a queen of the crime world in the capital with the help of her 8 sons. She got deeper in murder, extortion, land-grabbing and even black-marketing of water like crimes. Delhi Police on Saturday announced the arrest of Basiran, alias Mummy, who along with her family have 113 cases against them.

DCP South Romil Baniya yesterday said, 'she was active in crime world for past 16 years & committed several crimes with help of her 8 sons in past 9 years'.
"Basiran is a dreaded gangster who would take contracts to eliminate people. She was on the run since January this year after police found her hand in the murder of a youth in September 2017. She came to Sangam Vihar on Friday to meet her family members and was caught by police," said Romil Baaniya, deputy commissioner of police, south district.
"During the investigation, cops apprehended a juvenile in January 2018 and he revealed the involvement of Basiran. Her three close aides--Aakash alias Akki, Vikash alias Vikki, and Neeraj alias Jaggi drugged Miraz, took him to the forest and strangled him with a belt. Thereafter, the accused burnt the body and buried the remains in the forest," Baaniya said.
