Cyclone Fani is about to hit Odisha coast today and it is just 65 kms from Gopalpur whereas it has already hit Puri early this morning, as per IMD reports. The cyclone has also affected the movement of trains due to which East Coast Railways have cancelled four more trains today in Odisha. Whereas, ECoR cancelled approx 103 trains yesterday.
The trains which have been cancelled are RajyaRani Express from Rourkela to Kamakhya (18117), Bhubaneshwar-Bangiriposi Express (12891), Secunderabad-Kamakhya Express (07149) whereas, the special train has been assign from Santragachhi to Chennai (02841).

Railways have diverted the several trains running on the south route. In fact, they have also introduced three special trains so people can move to a safer place in Odisha. Some trains which were scheduled to run today have been cancelled including Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express, New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express and New Delhi-Puri Nandan Kanan Express.

Not just Railways but also Air flights have also been cancelled for the next two days. DGCA, aviation regulator announced that in and out flights from Bhubaneswar airport stand cancelled on Friday. Also, the movement of various domestic airlines has been cancelled.
“Airports Authority of India issued alert to all coastal airports to ensure all precautions, SOPs put in place immediately,” Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted.
Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guards, Armed Forces and 78 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been kept on alert, whereas, around 900 cyclone shelters have been built to help the Odisha people.
