The Centre put out a comprehensive list of instructions for coronavirus management on Wednesday, making face masks compulsory at work and in public places, and announcing prohibitions on spitting and selling alcohol and tobacco. Coronavirus is a fatal respiratory illness caused by the novel coronavirus.
These new course of actions are being implemented during an extended lockdown slated to remain applicable up to 3rd April.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Wear face mask. The centre has made them mandatory at work and in public places. The government has already put out an instruction on making them at home.
2. You will be penalized for spitting in public spaces.
3. Alcohol, gutka and tobacco have been banned.
4. Congregations of more than five individuals are not permitted in public places or in any organisation supervisors should make sure of it. District magistrates have been ordered to supervise events like funerals and marriages.
5. Offices have been ordered to put in place specific measures to curb the spread of the virus, including staggered lunch breaks, a gap of one hour between shifts and encouraging work from home arrangements for some employees.
6. Govt and private employers have been asked to encourage employees to download the contact tracing app Aarogya Setu.
7. There should’nt been any large meetings.
8. A standard operating procedure on social distancing has been fabricated for workplaces, factories and other institutions.
9. District magistrates will implement the new National Directives. Penal action, including fines, will be based on the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
10. The government has also put out guidelines for states, Union Territories to help them manage the coronavirus.
