It was on 21 August when a Supreme Court bench of Justices RK Agrawal and AM Sapre set aside an order of the Bombay High Court which had denied Col Purohit's bail.
He was released from the Taloja prison in Navi Mumbai on August 23 after which he had reported to his Army unit.
A team of Military Police and Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Army had taken him to a military station at Colaba in South Mumbai.
Seven people were killed in a bomb blast on September 29, 2008, at Malegaon, a communally-sensitive textile town in Nashik district of north Maharashtra.
