Ex-Coal Secretary HC Gupta awarded 3 years jail in coal block allocation case that happened during the previous UPA-led Congress regime at the centre.
Delhi's Patiala House Court on Wednesday sentenced three people including former Coal Secretary HC Gupta to 3 years imprisonment. Two other bureaucrats, KS Kropha and KC Samria, were also awarded 3-year jail term. Two private persons sentenced to 4 years imprisonment.

Special Judge Bharat Prasar pronounced other convicted Vikas Patni, MD of Vikash Metals and Power Limited, and its authorised signatory Anand Mallick to a 4-year jail term. A fine of Rs. 1 lakh was imposed on the company.
Delhi's Patiala House Court also granted bail to the HC Gupta (former Coal Secretary) and two other public servants. All have to furnish a personal bond of rupees one lakh and one surety amount, reported ANI.
