Ahead of Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra addresses his first public rally in Jagdalpur and attacked Congress from left to right. Slamming Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party PM Modi accused it of supporting Urban Maoists and making fun of Adivasis and their culture.

"Urban Maoists live in AC surroundings, move around in big cars and their children study abroad, but they ruin the lives of our poor Adivasi youth here through remote control. Why is Congress supporting these Urban Maoists?” said PM Modi attack Congress.


PM Modi urged people of Bastar to teach a lesson to the Congress leaders for shielding the urban Maoists. “I urge the people of Bastar to teach a fitting lesson to the Congress leaders, who on one hand try to shield the urban Maoists, and in Chhattisgarh, they speak about freeing the state from Maoists,” said PM Modi.

“For 10 years, Congress was at the Centre, but they never paid attention to the needs of Chhattisgarh and blocked all development for the state. They never thought of the region's progress,” added PM Modi.

PM Modi attacked Congress and said it makes fun of Adivasis and the culture. “I don't know why Congress makes fun of adivasis. Once I had gone for a rally to the Northeast of our country and there had worn a traditional Adivasi headgear but Congress leaders made fun of that hat, it was an insult of Adivasi culture,” PM Modi said.

Polling in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases on Monday, November 12 and November 20. In the first phase, 18 constituencies of eight Naxals-hit districts Bastar, Kanker, Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Rajnandgaon will go to polls and the remaining 72 constituencies on November 20. The counting of votes will be on December 11.
